DOG BOARDING
Landmark Kennels provides quality boarding for all breeds of dogs Since we raise and train dogs for police service work, the kennels are constructed of heavy gauge chain link fencing to withstand the rigors of strong active dogs. In addition, each run is topped, inside and out, and has 42” high steel panels running lengthwise to prevent males from urinating on neighboring dogs.

The kennel runs are arranged within a climate-controlled block building and each run is comprised of an indoor and an outdoor enclosure with doorways between the two areas. The dogs are free to roam in and out, since we never lock them in. The interior enclosures measure 5’ X 5’ and the exterior enclosures are 5’ X 16’, allowing generous room for exercise. We also have accommodations for very large dogs with interiors 5’ X 8’ and exteriors 8’ X 16’. Flooring is concrete, which is essential for our daily disinfecting protocol. The interior enclosures have raised polyresin decking, providing a resting area that retains body heat, allows for air circulation, and elevates the dogs off the concrete floor.

All dogs are boarded individually. We do not engage in the dangerous and, frankly, lazy practice of allowing groups of strange dogs to run together in a pack as in so-called “cage free” kennels. Likewise, we do not mix dogs from different households. Multiple dogs from the same household can, of course, be boarded together in a single run provided they have no food fighting tendencies.

Our kennel is relatively small, allowing individual attention to be given to each dog. The kennel is constantly monitored for cleanliness and is disinfected daily. Our kennel is a dynamic place, and most dogs in our care thoroughly enjoy the activity.

We have special boarding accommodations for toy dogs, geriatric dogs, and just-plain-delicate dogs apart from the main kennel. Since our family lives on the premises, we often keep such dogs in our house, walking them several times a day, providing them with a home-like atmosphere. We also offer daily walking service for dogs in the main kennel.

Boarding dogs are required to have current vaccinations including Distemper/Parvo Combination (6-in-1), Rabies, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough). We require the latest Bordetella vaccination to be within 6 months.

Dogs in our care are fed a super premium diet, Eukanuba Premium Performance. There is no additional charge to feed special diets or to administer medications to boarding dogs.

All boarding dogs are bathed before departure. This includes nail trimming, ear cleaning, coat brushing and anal gland expression if needed.
